Department of Public Safety

Community Policing

The Community Policing Program is dedicated to providing the OSU community with the resources and information needed to make the campus safe, secure, and enjoyable for everyone. Community policing is not just a phrase; it is a function of patrol's daily duties as they provide friendly service to the campus. The Community Policing Program provides education, safety, and awareness presentations to many groups and organizations across campus, including future students and their parents. Officers provide bicycle safety training to children of the OSU community and pedestrian safety tips to all. The latest addition to the OSU Police Department's commitment is the speed display sign located on McElroy Street in the family housing area. This is just one of the department's many efforts to provide safety to the OSU campus. The Community Policing Program is a distinguished addition to the crime prevention program, and together the programs work hard in keeping the campus informed and safe.
